Talented Ghanaian centre back Moro Alhassan of Genoa has revealed that he would have ended up as a mechanic if he had not become a player.
The 20-year-old defensive pillar, who played on loan at Cesena last season, came good and has drawn interest from Udinese although Genoa have made it clear that they will keep him this season.
“I was born in Accra, capital of Ghana. I am the youngest of seven brothers. If I had not played football I would have been a mechanic,” Alhassan told Canale Genoa. “Last year I found myself in Cesena on loan and I did very well with the team helping them to the play-offs.”
Genoa head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has also lauded the youngster, describing him as the new Marcel Desailly.
“Moro is a good central defender and can also play in defensive midfield, for now he is ready to play in our defensive midfield whilst he also has a bright future as a central defender. He plays like Marcel Desailly,” Gasperini added.
