All Is Set For Meteors-Chipolopolo Encounter

Barely 24 hours from now, Black Meteors would be faced with a daunting task of taking the nation to Athens 2004 Olympics Games. So crucial is the game that the entire nation is united in singing one song, ?Meteors Go, Meteors Go!?

When SPACE FM undertook a familiarisation tour to the camp of Black Meteors to find out the preparedness level of the team, it was evidently clear that that the boys are in top gear for action.

In an interview with the skipper of the side, Yussif Chibsah, he pleaded for the support of the nation. According to him, nothing would stop the team from going to Athens. ?The game would be very tough but we are eager to respond to the roll call in Athens?, he stated emphatically.

On his part, the two goal hero, Razak Pimpong was full of optimism that, the team would beat Zambia to qualify for the finals in Athens. He said the team would eschew all forms of complacency. ?For now it is not over until it is all over?, he opined.

When Kojo Poku was reached to pass a comment ahead of the crucial game, he said he is highly elated to join his colleagues to do the kill tomorrow.

The technical team conceded that they were expecting a stiff resistance from their opponents but eventually persistent pressure from the midfield would force them to cave in. When pressed further, the assistant coach, Oti Akenten disclosed that they were going to play with a very compact midfield. He would however not agree that selection was going to be difficult. ?What is wrong in having too much meat in a soup?, he queried.

From all indications, the team is fired up for the game tomorrow. Space Fm?s investigation from the corridors of Ministry of Education Youth and Sports has revealed that the government has pledged a fortune for the team if they won the game.

In another development, the Zambian delegation has arrived in Kumasi and putting up at Georgia Hotel. They had their first training session at the Kumasi Sports Stadium a short-while ago and are in very good spirit. In an interview with Kalusha Bwalya, he expressed satisfaction with the hospitality so far accorded them by Ghanaians and believes the better side would win the encounter tomorrow.
