Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has admitted that football in the country is struggling.

His remarks follow the Black Stars' failure to record a win in their first two games of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The Black Stars suffered a 1-0 defeat against Angola in their Group F opener at the Baba Yara Stadium, followed by a 1-1 draw against Niger on neutral ground in Berkane.

The results leave Ghana in 3rd place with just one point.

Reflecting on the team's performance, Asante Twum said that all is not well with football in the country. He added that the country's football governing body is committed to addressing the issues.

"All is not well with our football. We have a lot to do, and we are committed to solving the problem," he told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.

The Black Stars will face Sudan in a doubleheader in October. Ghana will host the Falcons at a yet-to-be-decided venue before traveling for the return game, which will be hosted at the Al-Merrikh Stadium.
