All set for National Middle League on Sunday

Accra, Feb 23, GNA - After weeks of legal battle between the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Kintampo United, the stage is now set for the commencement of the much awaited National Middle League. The Division One League (DOL) Board, organizers of the League, which is now dubbed "Fun Play National Middle League has fixed Sunday, February 25 for the take off.

The competition, which is to select two teams to succeed relegated Ebusua Dwarfs and Kade Hotpours from the premiership, will see former Premier league campaigners Accra Great Olympics locking horns with Division One rivals Tema Youth at the Cape Coast sports stadium. Both sides have already had gruelling encounters in the lower league as well as the sub middle league and the game presents them the opportunity to determine the superior side. Brong Ahafo United will also battle with Swedru All Blacks for the maximum points at the Nkawkaw Stadium in a game, which has also been described as the decider whilst Aduana Stars take on Wise Fighters at the Tema Sports Stadium.

The League continues on Wednesday, March 1, at all the centres with Great Olympics and All Blacks clashing at Sekondi with Brong Ahafo United sorting things out with regional rivals, Aduana Stars at Cape Coast while Wise Fighters engage Tema Youth at Nkawkaw. On Saturday, the competition fixed for March 4, will witness a game between Wise Fighters and Brong Ahafo United clashing at Tema, whilst Tema Youth and All Blacks sort things out at Nk awkaw with Great Olympics settling scores with Aduana Stars at Sekondi. The penultimate matches will be between All Blacks and Wise Fighters at Tema, Brong Ahafo United and Great Olympics clash at Nkawkaw and Aduana Stars take on Tema Youth at Sekondi.

The last games of the competition would see Tema Youth and Brong Ahafo United battling each other at Cape Coast with Aduana Stars engaging All Blacks at Tema while Great Olympics face Wise Fighters at Nkawkaw.

The Middle League was originally scheduled for December last year but had to be put on hold due to a court injunction placed on it by Alhaji Asuma Banda on behalf of Kintampo United. 23 Feb 06
