Captain of the CAF Confederations Cup winning squad of Hearts of Oak, Yaw Amankwah Mireku has pleaded with the Club’s teeming fans to make it a point to support the present crop of players no matter what.

Amankwah made this passionate appeal on Friday when the CAF Champions League, Super Cup and CAF Confederations Cup squad trained at the Hearts part in Accra ahead of Sunday’s impartation match scheduled for the Accra sports stadium at 4:00pm.

According to him, though there are some challenges with the way the Club is being run at the moment, there is the need to rally behind the players in all matches and by so doing “we can restore the Phobian glory”.

“These players who come to the Club these days are young and have not played many high profile matches and so they don’t have that kind of thick skin.”

“It is you the supporters who must ginger them, encourage them and do all you can to motivate them when things are not going on well,” Amankwah Mireku added.

“We can’t afford to see the Club sink any lower than it has now, hence the decision by some of us to come together to impart and advice the current squad, hence the impartation match.”

But the greater work will b done by you the supporters because it’s you who made us what and who we are today by believing in us, and we want you to do same for these young ones”, he added.
