Amartey declares himself fit ahead of Danish League resumption

Ghana defender Daniel Amartey has declared himself fully fit to feature for FC Copenhagen in the clash with Vestsjaelland as the Danish Super League resumes next Sunday.

The former Inter Allies player picked up ankle sprain in the 2-1 win over South Africa in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations third group encounter.

Though the Black Stars medical team passed the 20-year-old fit for quarter-final clash against Equatorial Guinea, he remained on the bench and did not feature in Ghana’s remaining three matches at the competition leading to reports that he may not have hit full fitness.

“No, I’m fine now and feel nothing about the injury. Now I am happy to be back in Copenhagen again, and I’m ready for the season premiere next weekend,” Amartey, who has been training with his team-mates, said.

Though Amartey claims he is fit, the final decision on his return to action for FC Copenhagen in Saturday’s friendly against IFK Gothenburg will depend solely on Coach Stale Solbakken.
