Ghana and Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey is slowly being integrated into the Leicester City set-up in Pre-season and says he is excited with the way things have turned up so far.
The former Copenhagen defender was the hero as the English Champions beat Celtic 6-5 on penalties to lift their first Pre-season trophy.
Amartey joined Leicester in January 2016 and was part of the incredible story of the club all be it he played in only five games on route to winning their historic English Premier League title.
There is a general feeling that his versatility will be his trump card this season having played in midfield and in defence already for Claudio Ranieri’s men.
“I am just working really hard and hoping that we have a season like we had last time out,” Amartey told Accra-based Citi-FM
“The bond within the team is great, and we are like a family so it’s a competitive team we have here.”
The 23-year-old alongside his fellow Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp will take on PSG and Barcelona in the United States in what is the second part of their Pre-season training.
