Former University of Connecticut Center Amida Brimah could end up on Chicago Bulls roster for the 2016-2017 NBA season after all.
After his release from the Bulls roster after featuring for the team in this year’s NBA Summer League, Brimah moved to San Antonio Spurs Training Camp before missing out on the five time NBA Champions roster for this season.
However, Chicago potentially has two open spots at Power Forward in the aftermath of a massive altercation between Forwards Bobby Portis and Nikola Mirotic in practice ahead of the team’s opening game on October 19 against Toronto Raptors.
Mirotic is reported to be in hospital due to a facial fracture and looks set to miss 4-6 weeks while Portis faces a possible cut from the roster after breaching team rules which frowns on harming team personnel.
This means Chicago has two spots open ahead of the season opener which gives Brimah a big chance to make the roster as an athletic front court player just like Portis.
The Ghana-born Center is a free agent and can sign for any team in the league.
