Ghana Center Amida Brimah has landed on San Antonio Spurs Training Camp roster ahead of the 2017-2018 NBA season which tips off on October 17.

The 6 foot 11 inch Center received the call up with San Antonio heading to camp ahead of the upcoming season following a sterling performance in the NBA’s Summer League for Chicago Bulls.

Despite playing limited minutes with the Bulls, Brimah did not disappoint as he recorded at least a block in all five games he featured.

Aside protecting the rim extremely well, Brimah’s fundamentally sound defense-first game caught the eye alongside his highlight performance against Atlanta Hawks in the preseason competition.

Brimah can fancy his chances of making the cut for San Antonio’s final 15 man roster for the season out of 19 players called up to the camp considering he is just one of three players who can play the “5” position.

After winning the 2014 National College Championship with University of Connecticut, Amida captained the Huskies in his final year before going undrafted in this year’s NBA Draft.

In four seasons at UCONN, Brimah averaged 6.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and an eye popping 2.8 blocks per game; he graduated with a degree in Agricultural Economics.
