Amoako nearing full-fitness after eight weeks out

Asante Kotoko experienced goalkeeper Isaac Amoako has begun fieldwork after an eight-week spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury.

Amoako joined his teammates at the Adako Jachie training grounds under the supervision of trainers Joe Baah and Sampson Appiah.

He has been involved in hectic training sessions, which includes running, jumping and bending.

Amoako, who suffered the injury during Kotoko’s semi-final clash against King Faisal last August, is delighted with his progress.

“I am doing very well by the Grace of God. I have also benefitted immensely from the services of some doctors and physiotherapists whom I will at the appropriate time name and properly acknowledge,” he said.

“On my injury situation, I want to assure all that I am well and that I do not feel any pain whatsoever in my body.

“I am fit and clear from the injury. What is left is for me to gradually work to bring functionality to the muscles and when that is done, I will be seen in the goalpost defending the interest of Kotoko and also bringing joy to Kotoko supporters.

“I have a lot of catch-up to do and I know with my trainers fully at work on me, it will not take too long for me to be fully back.”
