Nana Yaw Amponsah has given up his job as a FIFA Intermediary in order to be eligible to contest the Presidency of the Ghana FA.
The chairman of the second-tier football club, Phar Rangers, has declared his intentions to run for the GFA job and has been campaigning on the quiet.
There were however doubts over the eligibility of the Sports lawyer due to his role as a FIFA Intermediary.
This put him in conflict and would automatically disqualify him from the contest.
Amponsah has now confirmed relinquishing his job as an intermediary to enable him to carry on with his ambition of becoming the next GFA boss.
“I am no longer a FIFA Intermediary,” he told Asempa FM.
“This would have put me in conflict as I will be contesting the GFA Presidency.
“So for almost a year now I have had to relinquish that job.”
Elections for the GFA President are expected to be held on March 31, 2019, when the Normalisation Committee’s mandate given to it by FIFA comes to an end.
