Ghana's amputee football team made a significant statement with a resounding 5-0 win over Algeria in their group-stage match of the African Amputee Football Cup of Nations (AAFCON) in Cairo, Egypt.
Ghana took the lead through Yussif Yahaya, scoring in the 7th minute. The lead was quickly doubled by Hamza Mohammed in the 10th minute, putting Ghana firmly in control.
Mubarik Mohamed found the back of the net in the 24th minute and added another in the 42nd minute.
The first half ended with Ghana leading 4-0.
After the break, the team maintained their intensity, and Timothy Hayford rounded off the scoring with a goal in the 49th minute.
Mubarik Mohammed earned the Man of the Match award for his brace in the match.
