Tema, Nov. 21, GNA - Oswald Amuzu of the Celebrity Golf Club was last Saturday crowned the winner of the 2010 MTN CEO Invitational Golf tournament held at the Celebrity Golf Course, Sakumono, in Tema. The event, which is in its third year, brought together over 100 professionals and new golfers to vie for honours in the one-day 18-hole competition.
With 36 points, Amuzu beat his vice captain Francis Akwasi Poku of the Celebrity Golf Club who placed second by a single point in the men's main event on the day.
The third place went to Korean national Daniel Guo who earned 35 points.
In the Men's B event, Aziz Amankwah of Celebrity Club scored 38 points to beat Isaac Osei Bonsu of Achimota Golf Club to second position, while former captain of the Celebrity Golf Club Joe Ohene placed third with 36 points.
In the ladies event, Ann Brown of the Celebrity Golf Course won with 36 points beating Eno Ofori Attah who had 34 points. For their reward the winners took home trophies plus assorted souvenirs from MTN Ghana and its partners Ericson Ghana.
In the beginners division, Abayomi Adinose excelled in the male event while Sedinam Denutse won that of the ladies event. Captain of the Celebrity Golf club, Pierre Coussey, congratulated the winners for a good job and thanked MTN for hosting such a prestigious tournament on the best privately owned golf course in the country. Mr Brett Goshen, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, expressed appreciation to the Club for drafting the "MTN CEO Invitational Golf Tournament" into their calendar and promised that the competition would remain a regular feature for his company. 21 Nov. 10
