Anagokodzi beats Barracks in Night Street Soccer league

Anagokodzi defeated Barracks 3-1 in the week seven match of the night street soccer league played at the Captain Nfodjo park in Ho, on Thursday.


Nasiru struck a hat-trick for his side in the five-aside league match instituted by Ms Tilda Acorlor, a Sports Broadcaster, to keep footballers active in the Municipality.

The encounter between Bankoe, the league leaders and Vanakpoe ended goalless with the same results being recorded in the match between Housing and Anlokodzi.

Ho Bankoe leads the six-team league table with 17 points, followed closely by Anagokodzi, 16 points.

Vanakpoe is at the third position with 13 points, with Housing, Anlokodzi and Barracks following in that order with nine, five and four points respectively.


Ho Bankoe which looked like the most organised team among the six clubs had led the table since matchday two with some beautiful display of soccer.

The night soccer league was also to unearth talents within the Municipality.

The five aside "small poles" league has come at a time there is no football activities in the Region, making some talented players rusty.

The league is expected to last for ten weeks.
