Andre Ayew could stay at French giants Marseille

Andre Ayew has hinted that he could stay at Marseille beyond the summer if the club shows him they can match his ambition.

The Ghanaian’s current contract is due to expire at the end of the season, and the 25-year-old has regularly been linked with a number of teams from around Europe, most notably Arsenal and Liverpool.

Ayew has now confirmed that he will meet club president Vincent Labrune in the coming weeks to discuss his future and has revealed that he may still choose to stay at the Stade Velodrome if he feels Les Phoceens share his appetite for success.

“The door is always open [to stay]. Today, I don’t know what the future holds,” the player told French sports daily L’Equipe.

“Soon I will meet [club President] Mr [Vincent] Labrune with my father as I currently do not have an agent. We are going to hear what the president has to say and after that I will decide the next step.”

He added: “Whether the club secures qualification or not for the Champions League, my decision will solely depend on what I have experienced, and I can still experience at the club. If I have to stay at Marseille, it will be because the club has big ambitions, and things are in place to keep it that way.”
