Olympique Marseille star Andre Ayew escaped further punishment by the Disciplinary Committee of the French Ligue 1 after a hearing last week for indecent play.
He was adjudged by the Disciplinary Committee to have intentionally kicked Dario Cvitanich on the blind side of referee Bartolomeu Varela in their Week 4 match.
Ayew was yellow-carded for that offence but summoned before the Disciplinary Committee last Thursday.
“After hearing the player by videoconference and reading the supplementary report of the referee, the Commission decided not to increase the punishment and records the yellow card showed by the referee for the player Andre Ayew after that incident,” a statement by LFP read.
Ayew has been in the news this week after scoring a rabona last Tuesday in Olympique Marseille’s 5-0 win over Reims in the Ligue 1.
