Andre Ayew fires warning to Group C opponents

Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew says the Black Stars are concentrating on their strength and not the threat posed by their Group C opponents.

The four-time continental champions will play Senegal, Algeria and South Africa in a Group of Death for qualification to the knockout stage.

Ayew, will be making a return to the tournament after missing out on the 2013 finals in South Africa due to injury.

“We respect all teams. Remember that we are Ghana, one of the best teams in Africa. We do not look too much the other teams,” the Olympique Marseille star said.

“What concerns us the most is football that we produce on the field. All our players are young enough, but we all have at least three or four Nations Cup finals.

“So I think we have a slight advantage in terms of experience with Senegal, Algeria and even in South Africa.”

Ghana will open their campaign against the Taranga Lions on 19 January before engaging Algeria four days later, and the final match will be against South Africa on 27 January.
