Fenerbahce forward Andre Ayew has been ruled out of Thursday's Europa League game against Dynamo Zagreb due to a broken finger.

The 28-year-old underwent surgery on the injury on Tuesday night, ruling him out of action for the Turkish giants for two weeks.

The Ghana ace underwent the operation on Tuesday night at the Liv Hospital in Istanbul following the injury he suffered while playing as they lost a 2-1 at Trabzonspor.

Dr. Erden Erturer and his team performed fracture fixation operation on the Ghanaian player's fourth finger on his right hand.

Treatment has immediately started and he will rejoin his Fenerbahce team-mates in two weeks' time after his act of bravery was hailed by the Turkish media.

This means he will not be able to recover in time for the match against the Croatian side on Thursday.

Ayew picked the setback during the side's 2-1 defeat at Trabzonspor.

The Ghana international has hogged the headlines for all the positive reasons after he played through the pain barrier.
