Ghana's Andre Ayew made a scoring return for club side Olympique Marseille as they played out a 2-2 draw with Reims in their Ligue 1 encounter on Friday.
The winger participated in Ghana's AFCON 2015 campaign and was a bag of tears after the Black Stars lost to Ivory Coast on penalties.
Ayew however requested to start the game against Reims to get over his heartbreaking AFCON final loss, and repaid Marcelo Bielsa's faith with a goal.
Marseille however were unable to secure a victory that would have kept them in first place with a game in hand for Lyon.
Reims took an early lead with Dimitrov Payet getting the equaliser in the 58th minute. Ayew finished from close range to give Marseille the lead, only for Remis to pip them back with a late goal courtesy David Ngog.
Marseille sit second on the table with 49 points, one behind Lyon who also have a game in hand. Ayew's goal may go a long way to increasing demand for his signature, with his contract running out in the summer and the likes of Liverpool and Everton after him.
