Ex-Ghana international, Mohammed Polo has urged Andre Ayew to take his exclusion from the Black Stars squad in good faith.

Captain Andre Ayew was left out of the squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.

Although Otto Addo's decision has triggered mixed reactions, Mohammed Polo stated that he believes Ayew's exit from the Black Stars is part of the growth process in football.

"Football operates in cycles, and it's only natural that players experience peaks and declines. Accepting this is part of the game. When Gyan relinquished the captaincy to Dede before departing the national team, it mirrored the transition happening now," Polo asserted during an interview with Connect 97.1FM.

Otto Addo, at the press conference to name his squad, noted that he has not totally shut the door on Andre Ayew.
