Angola cruise excites Rahim Ayew

After been named in the 23-man list for the 2010 Orange African Cup of Nations by Black Stars head coach Milovan Rajevac, Rahim Ayew says he couldn’t have wished for a better opportunity to prove his worth and earn a World Cup spot in the star-studded Black Stars side than playing in Africa’s most prestigious competition.

In an interview with GHANA FOOTY, the son of legendary Ghanaian footie star; Abedi Pele, says he would be counting on the experience that he gained when playing for Ghana at the CHAN competition and that of club side Zamalek to help him propel him to his outmost best.

“I am very happy to have been called by the coach to help the Nation battle it out with other Africa countries in the quest to win the most converted football trophy on the African continent,” Rahim Ayew told GHANA FOOTY. “It’s good to know that, the coach has a lot of confidence in my football abilities and I would be playing with all that I have not to be a disappointing lad to the technical side of the team and Ghanaians as a whole. I did my best during the CHAN competition for the team and hope to put on a better performance come the Angola tournament,”

“The African Cup of Nations will have all that a competition should have and I believe the Black Stars would go all out to win the competition because I know that’s the dream of the coach. As I said, I am happy to be part of this team and hope to do my best should I be called to duty anytime for the team.”

Angola 2010 will be the 27th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations which would be held between the 10th of January to the 31st January 2010. Ghana is in Group B with Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso & Togo.
