Accra Hearts of Oak fans were livid following the team's defeat to Holy Stars in match week one of the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League season.

The Phobians suffered a 1-0 defeat to the newly promoted side at the Accra Sports Stadium, getting their season off to an unwanted start.

In a report filed by 3Sports, the fans, following the unwanted result, prevented the coach from attending a required post-match press conference, with police intervening to calm the situation.

They resorted to hooting at the players and the coach as they made their way out of the stadium.

The fans' anger stems from the team beginning a new season with a defeat after a shambolic performance in the previous season that almost resulted in relegation.

Hearts of Oak was saved from relegation by a victory on the final matchday.

The Rainbow side will hope to bounce back to winning ways in their next game to escape the same fate as the previous season.

They will visit Hearts of Lions in their second game of the season on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
