Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan says he is determined to make the most of his season long-loan spell at Spanish side Osasuna.
Annan moved from German Bundesliga side Schalke 04 where he was surplus to requirements.
The 26-year-old debuted for Los Rojillos in their 2-0 reverse at newly promoted Celta de Vigo before the international break.
Annan had a successful loan spell at Dutch Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem and helped them to secure a Europa League slot.
He knows he must step up his game to be a regular in José Luis Mendilibar's side.
"Of course there was a player playing in my position before I moved there so I have to work hard to gain that position after that. I think about impressing in the league," Annan said.
"Last season they finished in 9th position so we have to improve upon that as well."
Annan scored in Ghana's 2-0 win over Malawi last Saturday in a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
