Annan to Sign for Lyon?

According to a report from Mercato365, Olympique Lyonnais are ready to make a move for Rosenborg midfielder Anthony Annan after being impressed with his performances for Ghana during the 2010 World Cup.

The Black Stars were eliminated on penalty kicks by Uruguay at the quarter-final stage and Annan played a major role in progressing his side that deep into the tournament, showing admirable battling qualities in the centre of the field.

OL have not shut the door on a potential move for Kim Kallstrom away from the club, and with Galatasaray hovering around the Swede it may be that Annan steps into his berth in a midfield recovery role.

Lyon have kept other options open in this regard, as they are aware of the interest of several other clubs in the African. Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko remains a very real possibility for the Stade Gerland outfit.

Additionally, les Gones are hunting a central defender, most likely Lille’s Adil Rami, while Girondins de Bordeaux’s Yoann Gourcuff and Ganso of Santos are still linked with a switch to the Rhone Valley to become the club’s chief playmaker.

President Jean-Michel Aulas has indicated that he will not spend more than €25 million this summer, though there have since been whispers that he could break the bank should an especially attractive offer find its way to his table.
