Anthony Annan, Gideon Baah win Finnish Cup title

Ghanaian pair of Anthony Annan and Gideon Baah were in full-time action for HJK Helsinki and helped them to another title success after winning on penalties in the Finnish Cup final on Saturday.

Both Annan and Baah started and played full throttle of the game as they downed rivals Inter Turku 5-4 on penalties to emerge champions of the Suomen Cup.

The regulation minutes of the game ended 0-0 at the Sonera Stadium in Helsinki.

This means the former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko players have won double with HJK this season.

“I feel very great because sometimes it’s very hard to win double thanks to almighty God,” Anthony Annan told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Baah expertly converted the third kick for HJK in the shoot-outs run while Annan was not among the first five kickers.

Annan, who joined HJK from German Bundesliga giants Schalke 04 overly impressed in midfield, was booked in the 17th minute for a harsh challenge on Turku’s Ghanaian midfielder Solomon Duah.
