AFC Bournemouth's forward, Antoine Semenyo, has attributed a significant part of his growth as a player to emulating aspects of Didier Drogba's style of play.

The Ghanaian international has been instrumental for the Cherries, who currently hold the 11th spot in the Premier League with 48 points.

Semenyo has made notable contributions this season, scoring eight goals in 32 appearances for the club.

In a conversation with Premier League TV, in anticipation of their season finale against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Semenyo acknowledged Drogba as an influential figure in his football journey.

"During my injury period, I spent time observing players with traits akin to mine. I watched Michail Antonio, Breel Embolo, and particularly Drogba, focusing on their movements, timing of runs, and overall impact on the pitch," he shared.

"These observations and subsequent incorporation of their techniques into my gameplay have been instrumental in my development," he further explained.

Looking ahead, Antoine Semenyo is poised to join the Black Stars for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where they will face Mali and the Central African Republic in June.
