Ghana's courage Anyidoho made a bright start in the third leg international tennis federation (ITF) African Juniors Circuit when he beat Bofaka Iyema of Congo 6-0 6-1 in the opening singles match at the Accra Tennis Club courts today. While Anyidoho excelled, another Ghanaian, John Fumi couldn't stand the might of Hamilton Priyie of Nigeria as he lost 2-1 (7-5 3-6 6-2). Kennedy Aaron of Liberia lost 2-6 0-6 to Igbinovia Jonathan of Nigeria while Vignikin Rodrigue of Benin defeated Sanneh Lamin of Gambia 6 - 0 6 - 1 in their encounter. In the girls division singles, South Africa based Ghanaian Alimah Mohammed advanced to the next stage when she Shirley Ogoe beat Francisca Osedume of Nigeria 6-3 6-1 and Esther Gboko of Cote D'Ivoire conquering Fatou Diaware of Mali 6-2 6-0. Fifty one players from 16 African countries are taking part in the five day tournament which is being sponsored by the Ghana Tennis Association in conjunction with ITF.
