Cape Coast, Jan 27, GNA - Apam Secondary School Girls emerged the Central Region Inter-schools and Colleges Milo Volleyball champions when they beat Mfantsiman Girls Secondary School by two straight games in the finals of the volleyball league played at the Regional Schools Colleges' Park at Adisadel on Saturday.
Apam School who lost 2-1 to Mfantsiman Girl's Secondary School at the preliminary stage, combined skills with added stamina to beat Mfantsiman 25-18 and 25-13 to emerge the champions.
Parading players like Charity Anane and Elizabeth Botchwey who played a yeoman's game in the match, they dictated the pace right from the start to win the first set 25-18.
The hopes of the Mfantsiman Girls of winning the second set so as to throw the match open were shattered when Apam Secondary School again dominated proceedings and eventually won the second set 25-13. In the soccer semi finals boys' division, Jukwa Secondary School beat Boa Amponsem School 4-2 to qualify for the finals.
Kwesi Osei Baah and Emmanuel Korsah scored two goals each for Jukwa Secondary while Latif Salifu netted two goals for Boa Amponsem Secondary School.
