Appiah Earns Dzamefe's Praise

Chairman for the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Brazil 2014 World Cup Justice Senyo Dzamefe has heaped an unqualified praise on former captain of the Black Stars Stephen Appiah for his intelligence and leadership skills. "Appiah I wish I could stand up for you. In fact, I wish I could stand up for you. You are a through son of the land. Anytime you are in town and you need any help call on any of us here and we'll help you," Dzamefe told Appiah after the ex-captain had given his testimony to the Commission. "My lord if I could remember I was standing in front of my door when the team manager told me he was going to deliver Sulley and Kevin's letter to them so I asked him why and he said they have been dismissed from the team" "Soon as I turned I saw Dede so I told him to quickly call me Asamoah Gyan so we could go and beg on their behalf but when we went to plead on their behalf it couldn't materialize so I went back to Sulley's room to check on him and my lord as soon as I opened the door Sulley said, capitano could you believe they've asked me to leave? and my lord when Sulley spoke you could feel the emotion behind it," he recounted. "My lord as for Kevin when I knocked on his door he didn't respond so I took it that maybe he wasn't in," he said. "When it comes to footballers I think you have to be straight to them my lord. For instance if you know their money will come in two weeks tell them and they will understand but if you keep changing dates then they will also become suspicious," Appiah added. According to Stephen Appiah there was little he could do about the cold relationship between Kwesi Appiah and Kevin Prince Boateng because he was about 20 metres away and as such could not hear the exact words the player used.

As one of Kwesi Appiah's backroom staff at the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup Stephen Appiah was the one who calmed down tempers when the players boycotted training sessions.
