Appiah Testimonial Match Monstrously Launched

Former players of the Ghana Black Stars thronged the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) on Monday to help former skipper Stephen Appiah to launch his testimonial match which culminates his illustrious football career as a player.
The match which is being organized by an Accra based media and marketing firm, Primeval Media will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, June 27, 2015.
The conference room was heavily packed with football greats like; Joseph Addo, Anthony Baffoe, Ablade Kumah, Augustine Arhinful, Godwin Attram, Sam Johnson, Abubakar Damba, Richard Kingston, Laryea Kingston, Dan Owusu and Osei Kofi.
The event was graced by Dr. Mustapha Ahmed (Minister for Youth and Sports), Nana Sam Brew Butler (Former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association), Kwesi Nyantakyi (President of the Ghana Football Association), as well as some past board members of Accra Hearts of Oak led by Harry Zakour.
According to Primeval Media, the testimonial match will be preceded by a special dinner in honour of Stephen Appiah on Friday, June 26 at the State Banquet House in Accra.
Stephen Leroy Appiah played for all the various national teams for Ghana with his first being the 1995 U-17 FIFA tournament where he won gold without kicking a ball.
Appiah, 35, started his footballing career with former continental club champions, Accra Hearts of Oak before moving to Italy where played for clubs like Parma, Udinese, Bologna, Cesena, Brescia (loan) and Juventus.
Tornado captained Ghana at her first FIFA World Cup in Germany (2006) where the Black Stars made it to the round of sixteen and also played a part in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa where Ghana reached the quarter final stage.
Appiah capped 64 times for the Black Stars and scored 14 goals.
