Appiah deserves ''order of volta '' award

Sunyani based sports broadcaster Uriel Cubagee is calling on the His Excellency President John Mahama to confer '' ORDER OF THE VOLTA'' on the head coach of the senior soccer team James Akwasi Appiah.

According Mr. Cubagee, the performance of James Akwasi Appiah since taking the mantle as coach of the senior team is amazing and has brought hope to Ghanaian coaches who aspire to handle the Black Stars.

To buttress his call , he said qualifying Ghana to Brazil 2014 World Cup which is a done deal in itself calls for a Grand Medal Award because it will be the first by any Ghanaian coach. Again, despite Egypt being Africa Super Power soccer nation, in their history , 6-1 defeat they suffered on 15th October, 2013 is the heaviest by an African team .

BELOW ARE THE PHAROAHS’ ALL TIME HEAVIEST LOSSES

10-June, 1928 Italy 11 Egypt 3 Olypics games in Holland

04-09-1966 East Germany 6 Egypt 0 Friendly in East Germany

10-10-1990 Greece 6 Egypt 1 Friendly in Greece.

15-10-2013 Ghana 6 Egypt 1 2014 Brazil world cup qualifier.

Mr. Cubagee added by saying , '' No living Ghanaian coach can match or can do the job Kwasi Appiah is doing. Check the records and tell me which coach of a Ghanaian heritage can match him. In fact, i think coaches like Ratomir Djukovic, Milovan, Scholari , Lippi and the like have the moral justification and the correct technical eye to do proper analysis on Akwasi's post match analysis. What better assessment can a J.H.S student make from a university examination paper? '' , he questioned.

He said , most Ghanians never trusted Akwasi Appiah as the right person for the Stars job due to the ill analysis some mediocre coaches in Ghana who brand themselves as ''soccer gods'' do on Black Stars matches and that according to him fueled the unwarranted criticism on the Black Stars coach. He ended by commending the technical team for silencing those doubting THOMASES who thought Egypt would have been Akwasi's end of the road.
