Appiah must be made Unity Ambassador – Isaac Asiamah

Ranking member on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports, Honourable Isaac Asiamah has called on the appropriate sports authorities to make former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, a unity ambassador for all the national teams because of his high sense of leadership during his days as captain of the national team.

According to the Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua constituency, the leadership qualities exhibited by the former Juventus midfielder, is something that the entire nation must still benefit from even after retirement.

Speaking ahead of the testimonial match to announce the retirement of Stephen Appiah, Honourable Asiamah said, “Appiah was an exemplary captain for the Black Stars and we must still tap his leadership qualities even after retirement. I will, therefore, urge the authorities to make him a unity ambassador to all the national teams for the coming generation to also benefit from his gift of nature”.

“We need to ensure that all the other national teams learn from the leadership qualities of Appiah”, he added.

He ended by saying Ghanaians must troop to the Accra Sports Stadium on 27th June to watch the testimonial match.
