Former Ghana international Augustine Arhinful has called for an efficient robust system for Ghana football ahead of Fifa's expected naming of members of a Normalisation Committee for the country on Wednesday.

All football-related activities are currently suspended in the country following an investigative documentary that exposed corrupt and match-fixing activities of top officials and referees of the Ghana Football Association.

The exposé, released in June, led to the resignation of Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi and the dissolution of the Executive Committee of the local football governing body.

“I want to see a situation where processes are put into place and people will not be allowed to do the things they were supposedly doing behind the scenes," Arhinful told GhanaWeb.

"We have to make sure we clean the system.

"The FA brought this entire situation on itself. The FA and its executives were not tough enough.

"They knew there was something going wrong even before the video [documentary] came out but they could not put their feet down.

"If they had forced the president [Nyantakyi] to resign at that time, they would have been intact.”

A two-man Liaison Team set up by Fifa/Caf is currently running football in the country.

A Normalization Committee is expected to take over affairs from the Liaison Team.
