The Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), Kwame Asuah Takyi, has fulfilled his promise to promote officers who represented the service in Armwrestling at the 2023 Africa Games in Accra.

In a communique from the GIS headquarters, the captain of the National Armwrestling team, Edward Yamoah Asamoah, and coach Nii Otoo Larkyne, who excelled in Armwrestling at the games, were mentioned.

The officers, who led Team Ghana to win several medals, including gold, silver, and bronze, have been promoted to various ranks for their outstanding and exemplary performance.

Team captain, Assistant Inspector Edward Yamoah Asamoah, has now become an Inspector of the Ghana Immigration Service, while team coach ITO Nii Otoo Larkyne is now an Inspector of the Ghana Immigration Service.

The Comptroller-General congratulated the officers for their hard work and dedication, saying, "Your achievement is a testament to the service's commitment to excellence. We are proud of you, and this promotion is a well-deserved recognition of your efforts."

The 2023 Africa Games saw Ghana's Armwrestling team win a total of 41 medals, with the GIS officers playing a crucial role in the team's success.

The promotions are a fitting reward for their achievements and a fulfillment of the Comptroller-General's promise to recognize and reward excellence.

The officers expressed their gratitude to the Comptroller-General and the GIS leadership for the recognition and promised to continue working hard to bring honor to the service.

This gesture by the GIS leadership is a clear demonstration of the service's commitment to rewarding excellence and motivating personnel to strive for greatness.

Meanwhile, the GIS has also committed to granting employment to civilian officers who competed for Ghana in the African Games representing the Ghana Immigration Service.
