Arsenal youngster of Ghanaian descent Jordy Osei-Tutu has signed his first professional deal with the club.

The 17-year-old joined the Gunners in the summer on a scholarship contract after some impressive displays for the youth set-up of Championship side Reading.

“Osei-Tutu has signed his first professional contract with Arsenal,” the club announced.

“Everyone at Arsenal would like to congratulate Jordi on his contract and looks forward towards his continued progression with the club.”

A full back, Osei-Tutu can equally fit in central midfield or on the wings. However, his exploits at the defensive role have seen his stalk rise in just over three months.

“It is great for me to sign my first professional contract,” Osei-Tutu said.

“I was always looking up to this day. My main aim is to at least get some games in the senior team this season for a start as I keep developing.”

Osei-Tutu has been a consistent performer for the Gunners’ U-18 side, and is set to join the U-19 as well as the U-21 teams ahead of the Uefa Youth League.

Osei-Tutu was born to Ghanaian parents in England, and recently capped a wonderful year with a first outing for the England U-17 outfit.
