Asamoah Gyan cools title talk

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan wants fans to measure their expectations on the Black Stars following heightened talks of winning the 2014 World Cup title in Brazil.

The 28-year-old wants local fans to ease the pressure on the team as they prepare to take on heavyweights like Germany and Portugal in group G alongside USA.

The Black Stars progressive outings in the last two editions of the tournament have placed some sort of pressure on the team to surpass previous achievements. And the Al Ain ace has urged for calm.

“It’s too early to talk about the cup right now,” he said. “You know, what matter is we going to Brazil and then making sure we do what we do best and make everybody proud.

“We don’t have to put unnecessary pressure on ourselves. We have to go out there, play and enjoy the game and see what comes out of it.”

The Ghanaians are seen largely as Africa’s real chance of making the last four or at best winning the elusive World title in the South American country.
