Asamoah Gyan excited with Ghana FA contract

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has welcomed the decision to tie the players to a contract claiming that will bring an end to a lot of disagreements in camp.

Delay in the payment of appearance fees resulted in players threatening to boycott training ahead of their final Group G match against Portugal.

There were issues of indiscipline in camp where Kevin-Prince Boateng had to be thrown out for insulting the coach in the full glare of his teammates.

Sulley Muntari was also expelled from camp for attacking a Ghana FA official during discussions on the payment of appearance fees.

Michael Essien refused to warm-up before the Portugal match and has had his behaviour referred to the Ghana FA Executive Committee.

The new contract, which entails the code of conduct and mode of payment for bonuses, will address all these and captain Gyan will bring an end to a lot of issues in camp.

“I think the contract will bring a lot discipline to camp. We are waiting for the papers to be distributed and once we receive them we will go through them and revert,” Gyan said.

“Everything is calm and the players agree that in every human institution there should be law and other.”
