Ghana’s lead striker, Asamoah Gyan remains a doubt for the Black Stars as they prepare for the semi- final game against Cameroon on Thursday, at the Franceville Stadium.

Gyan, who got injured in the third Group D game against Egypt and missed the quarter-final game against DR Congo, is still not confirmed for the rest of the competition according to the technical team.

The player according to information gathered by the GNA Sports trained on Tuesday and will train on Wednesday evening as well.

However, assistant Coach Maxwell Konadu said they will have to observe him critically after training on Wednesday evening to determine his fate.

He said if the player passes the fitness test on Wednesday he will be made to play in the crucial game on Thursday.

According to coach Konadu, the team doctors have been working tirelessly on the striker since he got injured and the player has seen improvement in his fitness.

He said though the improvements were impressive they have to be cautious throwing him into the game.

“Gyan’s injury situation saddened all of us because he is our top striker.

“Initially we thought it was very serious but further examination indicated it was not that serious and that is why he has seen so much progress.

“But I cannot confirm whether he will play or not” Coach Konadu stated.
