Ghana Captain Asamoah Gyan has denied reports linking him with a move to former English Champions Chelsea.
It was reported that the Shanghai SIPG striker will accept a pay-cut to make the deal a reality after chronic injuries affected his progress in the Chinese Super League, where he earns $350,000, a fee which made him the sixth best-paid player in the world.
In an interview with Kumasi-based radio station BOSS FM, Asamoah Gyan claimed all those reports were speculated and insisted his Chinese club wasn’t going to offload him.
“I don’t believe in internet stories. There is nothing like I’m joining Chelsea F.C. There hasn’t been any Offer. My team is not sacking me. All these stories are not true.” Asamoah Gyan told BOSS FM.
The Ghana international featured for Sunderland earlier in his career making a big impact in the EPL with a series of powerful, explosive displays before leaving the European game to chase petrodollars in the United Arab Emirates with Al Ain FC before moving to Shanghai SIPG.
