Asamoah Gyan will receive a rousing farewell when he retires - Kurt Okraku assures

Ghana Football Association president, Kurt Okraku has expressed readiness to give legendary striker Asamoah Gyan a befitting send off when he hang his boots.

The general captain of the Black Stars recently echoed that he will be happy if the association gives him a rousing farewell when he puts his to rest as a professional player.

Gyan explained in an interview monitored by Footballghana.com that, he does not want to become one of the Ghanaian players who leave the national team with pain.

Despite earning national and worldwide recognition, Gyan believes that when the time is up, stakeholders in the football industry must give him a befitting farewell.

However, the FA capo in an interview with German based Topical Radio highlighted the need to honour players who have given their all to the national team particularly Asamoah Gyan.

According to Kurt, after having talks with the striker, he is certain the FA will honour him.

“I have spoken to Gyan, John Mensah, Richard Kingston, Stephen Appiah and I am trying to get in touch with Michael Essien and other players who have performed well for the nation”

“In my conversation with Gyan, he made it known that he wants to enter into coaching after football and the FA under my auspices will do everything possible to assists him in his chosen field. I think they have played their part for the country and it will be prudent to honour these great personalities” he said.
