Ghana international midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has admitted the road has not been smooth for Juventus in the Uefa Champions League but he is positive of getting the results at Olympiakos on Wednesday night.
Asamoah is expected to get the nod over ex-Manchester United defender Patrice Evra and start at the Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki as the Bianconeris seek to restore their winning run in Group A.
“Is been a difficult journey for us this season in the champions league, but we are ready for the other teams. The champion’s league is a very difficult competition and you cannot rule out a team because they are from Greece or somewhere,” the 25-year-old said in a post-match interview.
Juventus have lost one (1-0 against Malmo FF) and slipped to a 1-0 loss at Atletico Madrid in their last trip in the competition.
Asamoah watched that defeat at Atletico Madrid from the bench is expected to recapture his starting berth after being bench in their Serie A stalemate with Sassuolo on Saturday.
“We have been in this position before so it’s not something that is strange for us; the team has a lot of good players that can change a game at any point in time so we will be ready for the task ahead. If we drop points it will be difficult for us and so we have to go all out to pick all the points on Wednesday.”
