The injury-plagued Ghanaian is set for yet another time in the treatment room after hurting his thigh in his side's Coppa Italia win on Wednesday

Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has been ruled out of action for up to three weeks, the club have announced.

The midfielder suffered an injury relapse in Juve’s 3-0 thrashing of Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday, and has subsequently been left out of the Old Lady’s squad that travel to Chievo Verona for Sunday’s Serie A clash.

“Kwadwo Asamoah and Mario Mandzukic both underwent medical checks today after reporting injuries during Wednesday’s Coppa Italia triumph over Inter at Juventus Stadium,” the reigning league champions announced on their official website.

“The Ghanaian midfielder has suffered a torn biceps femoris in his right thigh and is expected to be sidelines for two to three weeks.”

This is yet another blow to the Black Star, who has been in and out of action for the past two years due to a series of injury setbacks.

The 27-year-old was out of action between November 2014 and May 2015 after undergoing surgical operation to correct a troublesome knee problem.

Upon his return in Juve’s 3-1 thrashing of Napoli last May, the former Liberty Professional man suffered yet another injury, sidelining him until last October when he appeared in his side’s 3-1 win over Bologna – his first match of the new season.

He again suffered a muscle sprain three weeks later, only making a return last December.

Further injury concerns meant that Asamoah had to wait until January 17 for his fourth league appearance.
