Ghanaian powerhouse Asante Kotoko have officially announced the appointment of Johnson Smith as the new assistant coach of the Club.
The former Karela United trainer penned a two-year deal with the Porcupines on Friday to become an assistant coach of the club following the expiration of the contract of Akakpo Patron.
Johnson Smith was part of the club’s technical team during the days of Bashiru Hayford in 2007 and acted as a caretaker Coach in 2008 after the exit of the then Head Coach, Paa Kwesi Fabin.
He now returns to Kotoko after a two-year illustrious stint at Karela United.
Coach Smith's rich experience in the local terrain has aided him lead Karela United finishing second in the Special Competition organized by the Normalisation Committee.
