Lasting 60 minutes for each game, Yakubu Mohammed shot the Porcupines up in barely 3 minutes to unsettle Corners FC.
Mohammed Silla, in the 48th minute of the second half of Game 1, opened up Corners' defense so badly and slipped a ball through to Emmanuel Gyamfi whose perfect cross, met Sarfo Gyamfi's head for a well-worked 2nd goal for Kotoko to end the first game at 2-0 after 60 minutes.
Asante Kotoko paraded a new set of 11 men to face a moderately changed Corners FC side for the second game of the afternoon.
Fifteen minutes into the game, new boy, Nana Boakye found the net for Kotoko after an earlier shot from Akwasi Nti was poorly saved by Corners goalkeeper. That held Boakye's invitation for a tap in to record Kotoko's 3rd.
The second half of Game 2, for most part, was played at a watered down pace as both teams enjoyed a fair share of the ball but it was Mohammed Naeem who'd have the last say of the game on the 58th minute after he latched on to an inspiring pass from Douglas Owusu Ansah to fire home Kotoko's 4th and final goal of the afternoon.
Draining as the exercise seemed, coach Polack would be pleased by the opportunity to see, especially, a number of new players under observation as he looks to build a formidable side for the new season.
