Asante Kotoko set to terminate Richmond Lamptey's contract - Reports

Asante Kotoko have reportedly agreed to part ways with deputy skipper Richmond Lamptey by mutual consent.

According to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, Lamptey has intentions of playing abroad after spending 10 seasons in the Ghana Premier League.

The player has two months left in his contract and has communicated his desire not to extend his stay to Kotoko's Interim Management Committee.

Pending an official announcement from the club, Lamptey will become the 19th player to exit after the 2023/2024 campaign.

Kotoko officially released 11 players on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, before adding seven more on Wednesday.

Some notable players named among the released players include Augustine Agyapong, Danlad Ibrahim, Mohammed Sherif, George Mfegue, Serge Eric Zeze and John Tedeku.
