AshantiGold CEO, Kudjoe Fianoo, says he is ready to step down if the club’s board deems it fit.
On Monday, the National Co-ordinating Council, the fans body of the club, called for Fianoo’s salary to be cut by 50% and also head coach Bashir Hayford asked to step aside.
Fianoo has responded by saying he does not mind leaving the team if that is what will save the club.
"Things are not going on well for the club at all, but we need to be focus and bring back the ship to life, they are agitations by the fans here and there but you know in Ashgold we have structures you cannot wake up and do what you want,” Fianoo exclusively told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM
"I have received a letter from the supporters this morning requesting for my resignation; I will forward the letter to the board of directors of the club and if they think my resignation will resurrect the club, I don’t have a problem but for now I need to keep it cool and meet the board.
"I was expecting the entire Ashgold fraternity will come together and stop the blame games, but I can’t hide my feelings all these issues have been there long, but it was overshadowed because of the League we won last season."
AshantiGold’s title campaign is in tatters and has managed just one win of the season.
