Danish trainer John Christensen has had his contract with Ashanti Gold SC terminated on contractual terms due to lack of football activities in the country and the trainer has expressed his sadness over the move by the club.

Christensen has indicated that a clause in his contract with the Miners permits a termination of his deal if the club faces inactivity over a period of time.

Since the stalling of football activities in the country since the premiering of the Anas Number 12 Exposé which revealed series of alleged corrupt practices by football officials, Ashanti Gold SC have been left with no option than to trigger the clause.

Consequently, on Tuesday, Ashanti Gold SC announced a mutual termination of their contract with Christensen as head coach of the four time premier league champions, but the coach is seriously saddened by the move which has rendered him “jobless”.

” Yes it’s true, I have left my post as head coach of Ashanti Gold, but it was not my decision “, John Christensen told FOX FM.

“They said they could not work with me anymore because there was no football activity going on and they wanted to cut down cost.

I am now jobless but will be available for any club in Ghana or anywhere in Africa”, he said.

The coach is currently in Obuasi and would depart for his native land Denmark in the near few weeks.
