Ashanti Gold head coach, Bashir Hayford has alleged that a supporter of the club evoked curses on the team that they would struggle to win matches at the Len Clay Stadium.

Bashir Hayford led AshGold to win the Ghana Premier League last season, but the champions have been struggling to amass maximum points, having won 2 games in 11 league matches.

The former Kotoko coach has been under intense pressure from the supporters of the Miners, thus, he requested for three months accumulated leave to enable him have some rest.

He also claimed the team is struggling because a staunch fan cursed the team on the opening day of the 2015-16 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

“Right after opening day win against Medeama at home a die-hard supporter of the club cursed the team at the Len Clay Sports Stadium that we would find it difficult to win at home.

“I pleaded with him to rescind his decision, but he failed to comply. He played active role in the club last season. Since he cursed the team we haven’t won any home game; we have drawn 3 and lost 2,” he told Sikka FM.
