Ashgold deny Real Madrid move for Opare

Ghanaian club Ashgold have denied reports that they have transferred teenage midfielder Daniel Opare to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The 17-year-old was a key player in Ghana's team that finished third at the Fifa under-17 World Cup in South Korea in September.

Opare, who can also play as a lateral defender, was widely reported in the Ghanaian media to have signed a four-year deal with the Madrid club.

Despite these claims by the player's agent, Ashgold the mother club of the midfielder, say they are yet to receive an offer from Real Madrid.

"The agent involved told us two weeks ago that they have got a deal for Opare from Real Madrid but as I am talking to you we have not seen any paperwork," Cudjoe Fianoo CEO of Ashgold told Ghanasoccernet.com .

"As long as we are the owners of the player we should have been informed of anything if the deal is concrete.

"Until we get something on paper from Real Madrid confirming a deal we can only consider this as a rumuor.

Fianoo revealed that German side Schalke have offered to sign Opare but the youngster is insisting that he prefers a move to Spain.

"I have asked Opare and his parents to be cautious on how they proceed otherwise they might end up with nothing because there a confirmed deal from Schalke for him waiting on my table," Fainoo said.

"If the Nigerian agent claims to have an offer from Real Madrid he should bring it forward so that we can conclude it for him to move. We have Opare's interest at heart.

"The offer from Schalke will also not be on the table forever for him so he has to make a decision with his parents."

Opare was observed by English side Liverpool last month but the Premiership side is yet to make its final decision on the player.
