Ashgold pip Dwarfs

Obuasi, Nov. 6, GNA - Veteran Emmanuel Osei- Kuffour worsened the woes of relegation haunted Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs when he powered his side to a one nil victory in the GT premier League match at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports stadium.

Osei-Kuffour who is a strong contender for the goal-king race, scored the only goal of the match in the 10th minute of the game after completing a clinical pass from Richard Awuah. The Miners made two changes by bringing on Anthony Baffour and Solomon Opoku for Joe Hendricks and Thomas Duah by the 30th minute mark to strength their defence.

Dwaerfs after the goal fought desperately in search of the equalizer and decided to bring on fresh limbs to maintain their attack with Ibrahim Fuseini coming on for Mike Ofori-Mensah and nearly went ahead with the equalizer Ernest Adu shot wide after collecting a perfect pass from Ekow Ghansah.

Dwarfs chances of redeeming the gaol was made difficult when substitute Fuseni was shown the red card by referee C. M. Atsatsa for elbowing an Ashgold player.

Both teams put everything into the play as the game was coasting to an end but their attackers failed to utilize the chances that came their way till the of the final whistle.

King Faisal thrashed Kpando Heart of Lions 5-1 in their penultimate GT premier league match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Faisal started the goal haul on the stroke of the first half through a spot kick taken by Abubakar Yahuza after a defender has handled the ball in the vital area.

The Kumasi-based team, who missed lots of goal scoring chances in the half with Eric Gawu and Yahuza being the worst offenders, lifted up their game in the second half and scored the second goal through Edmund Peprah in the 48th minute.

Gawu atoned for his earlier misses with two beautiful goals in the 51st and 67th minutes respectively. Lions, who were undaunted by the goals pulled one back in the 79th minute through Eric Bekoe whose powerful shot beat goalkeeper Abubakar Kankani.

Substitute Francis Ofori sealed the doom of Lions with a perfect header from Gawu's cross in the 82nd minute.

Eric Gawu was adjudged the best player of the match.
